Each class is designed to help you sharpen your skills through practical, hands-on instruction led by dedicated and passionate instructors. You can choose from one or more of five available classes. *Registration is currently open to F.I.R.E members only Registration for non-members will open on 8/18*

Hands On Training Week Classes
- 1 – Heavy Rig Extrication
Monday, September 8, 2025 (B-shift)
Lead Instructors: John Templeton/Jonathan Timms
Time: 0830-1230
Location: 9090 Brighton Rd, Henderson, CO 80640
Class size: 12
PPE: single layer PPE, helmet, gloves, steel toe boots and eye protection.
Hands on extrication training using actual semi-trucks with real life damage. Learn the different challenges these rigs pose during an extrication with a lot of cut time.

- 2 – Search Confidence with Live Fire
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 (C-shift)
Lead Instructors: Marc Jonez
Time: 0830-1600
Location: Denver Fire Academy
Class Size: 24
PPE: Full bunkers, Helmet, gloves, SCBA mask and regulator
This class will focus on basic search techniques. Searching with a CAN, searching with a TIC, hoarder condition Search and victim removal methods.

- 3 – Auto Extrication
Wednesday, September 10, 2025 (A-shift)
Lead Instructors: Gino Abeita
Time: 0830-1600
Location: Denver Fire Academy
Class Size: 24
PPE: Single Layer PPE (if available) or you can wear bunkers with liners removed, steel toe boots, helmet, eye protection, gloves
The class will provide hands-on basics of auto extrication which will include vehicle construction, tool manipulation, and body mechanics and cut sequences.
- 4 – Vent Enter Search (V.E.S.) with Live Burn
Friday, September 12, 2025 (C-shift)
Lead Instructor: Bryan Cash
Time:
Session 1: 0830-1230
Session 2: 1330-1730
Location: Denver Fire Academy
Class Size: 14 per session
PPE: Full bunkers, Helmet, gloves, SCBA mask and regulator
This will provide hands-on training on search, VEIS, exterior vent and saw work under live fire conditions.

- 5 – Forcible Entry

PPE: Helmet, gloves, and eye protection.
This training will focus on forcible entry techniques using hand tools. Covering conventional style and through the lock methods
